The project is implemented in a 5-acre serene location protected and secured with fencing. The main crops planted here includes 2500 high quality patimukam saplings obtained from deep red and deep violet patimukam mother plants. Along with this are planted 100 Karingali saplings, 500 hybrid nelli saplings, 2000 Bush jasmine saplings and other vegetable items. The special hybrid color patimukam can earn up to 80 lakhs per annum. The cost for the project shall be Rs. 20 lakhs.

Though Karingali is inferior to Patimukam in terms of money value, it could also earn you a great income as the productivity of Karingali is much more higher. The hybrid nelli planted at Santhimadom could earn you as much as Rupees 5 lakhs per year. Pathimukam trees can be cut down after 7 years. Statistics show that 5 acres of land could earn you crores of rupees as income from patimukam trees alone. Even after felling, the tree stocks sprouts again and harvesting can again be done every four years up to 60 years.

Karingali also earns up to 14 lakh rupees in 8 years. The Oushadhavanam project also includes a cattle shed with three cows. A biogas unit is also provided to utilize the cattle dung. The project will also have a worm compost unit and a bio pesticide unit.

The project also provides a Tamilian family to look after the day-to-day activities of the farm. The project is also having the credit of being the fist project of its kind in the country. The project is thus providing a boom to the spread and reach of ayurveda and the age old traditional healing sciences.
